Spreading Branches of Kindness
In her fifth book, Spreading Branches of Kindness, Diane again focuses on finding hope while never losing a sense of humor. These 42 short stories are mostly true (somewhat lavished), and is an interactive children’s book that adults can also learn from. Being a unique book, each story has a picture that the child may color in. The author desires to give courage to show kindness no matter how different we all are. Diane's life has centered around children—her own, and others' living with unique needs whom she worked with for 35 years in school and home. One consistent pattern has emerged from that tapestry—children are inherently kind. Somehow, that light gets dimmed as they are socialized in contemporary culture. Spreading Branches of Kindness flows from her desire to let that inborn light shine ever more brightly no matter what your age, as you navigate your way through a difficult and, at times, unforgiving world. When we embrace differences with Christ-like love we bring both kindness and light.
